Well YES! I notice the country of origin on the label is Greece and put it in my basket straightaway. What else can I do to support the lovely people of Paxos who have made us so welcome over the years?
What's there not to like about this nobbly vegetable - the colour of sunshine inside?
A slurp of the ancestral Maple Syrup (see previous post) and a dab of butter, seasoning to taste and into the oven alongside the roasting chicken it goes.
....Wonder how many Butternut squash I will have to buy before I am entitled to a free Greek island.

You'd better start researching butternut squash soup, cheese cake, puree etc etc - it will take a lot of butternut squash to bail out even a tiny island.
I have about 6 large boxes filled with Butternuts. My crop this year was particularly big.... Sorry Paxos; no relief from Cro.
Roasted with chicken is my favourite too, and I always leave some to have cold the following day.
That sounds really yummy....never tried it roasted with chicken but think I may well have a go. :-)

I have a Greek butternut squash from the same farm on my counter, waiting to be turned into either soup or curry... yum.
It is nice, too, simply roasted with other vegetables as part of a vegetarian meal.
I haven't understood why the Greek government don't lease out their islands complete with population. A few islands leased or sold would cover their debt I would have thought.
Why can't we just have a few in exchange for bailing them out?
Then it's definitely 'bags I' Paxos....or do we have to put our towels on them before the Germans?
As soup topped with lots of sliced leeks that have been slowly softened in butter .....
And squash is definitely delicious roasted , too .
Drat , now I'm hungry !
