In which I revisit The List

We're off on our holidays soon and it occurs to me that whether one goes for a couple of days or a couple of months the amount of preparation is ridiculous, largely petty and has nothing to do with the duration of the stay. We're going for a week. To Paxos. Bring it on.

We have lists of things to do - see above. My list on the left, rambles, while that of the Glam.Ass. on the right is brief, achievable and succinct. You will notice that both 'Bag spuds' and 'fetch suitcases' have been crossed off; he may now loll around and read the newspaper.

Perhaps I should learn to delegate?

What, delegate packing and pre-holiday preparation to the Glam. Ass? To a man who can only think of two things to put on his list and one of them is to bag spuds????

Remember that tried and tested expression: quicker to do it yourself.....

Have a lovely holiday, anyway!

Rachel said it all - unless you want to spend your entire holiday wearing your least favorite shoes, no bathing suit and lumpy old fleece vest - best to pack yourself!

I know the feeling. Even if we have a day out together - its always me who packs the bag!!

I'm impressed to see that there is a list at all. Mr U&B has the habit of saying smugly that he is 'ready to go and waiting for me' while standing by the front door as I run about doing everything that is needed to be actually ready to leave.

I fully agree. P's only responsibility is to get the car travel-worthy and pack his own clothes. Although, he can even mess that up - 2 years ago he was unable to take the kids swimming because he'd packed a pair of R's age 4-5 trunks instead of his own. I refuse to believe it was anything but deliberate!

Oh the tyranny of the TO DO list. And yet I get itchy and feel guilty if I can't constantly be crossing things off. Do have a wonderful holiday; perhaps you can make a list:

Enjoy myself
Lie on the Beach
Walk in the Sun
Have several good meals
etc.

At least he tries.
Have a lovely holiday.

Ha ha ha! Love it! We women are excellent multi-taskers aren't we. Not that bagging the spuds isn't a feat all on it's own.
I hope you have a lovely holiday! X
