Mince pie any one?

It's that time of year again. The smell of baking fills the house, sweet and spicy. I feel unnaturally organised and domestic as, on taking two trays of mincers out of the Aga and dusting them with icing sugar, the doorbell rings and visitors arrive unannounced. They are much impressed with my creativity.

'Tea?' I ask. The answer is 'yes, of course - with hot mince pies please'. We all sit down around the log-burner's warm glow to sip our tea and put the world to rights. What a cosy, homely scene it is.Well, that got rid of one tray of pies - our guests wrapped some up and took them home. In case they are stranded between here and Longridge and need emergency Christmas fare perhaps.

I've hidden some away and the remainder are disappearing alarmingly quickly - the Glam.Ass. it seems can't get enough. So - if you would like one, pipe up.

Yes, please!

I have got to find some time hidden somewhere to get going with my minimal Christmas baking. You are giving me lots of inspiration!

oh Yum yum they look delicious - I wonder why mince pies taste so much nicer at this stage before Christmas. I made a few last week and they didn't last long!

Please pop them into a box and send them COD - they'll last just a few minutes because I love mincemeat. Tarts are the perfect size - one or two bites and no uneven pie to be trimmed and trimmed until there's nothing left in the pie plate - quite a problem for Yours Truly who likes symmetry and mincemeat.

Mmmm, yes please. I haven't had a mince pie yet. With a nice cup of tea....

If you come round to me you'll get a very cheesy cheese scone and lashings of butter.

Oh yes please. I love mince pies and those look divine. What lucky impromptu visitors. How far is it from the Preselis to the side of your log-burner?

Oh yes please. Do love the stars. They look gorgeously more-ish and tasty.

We shall all be on mincepie making duty when Rain and Shine come to our little theatre and we shall be serving mulled wine. We are sold out. Let's hope we have plenty of pies.
