Eggs

Either we've got a tray of extremely large eggs here - laid by some monstrous birds and which dwarf  the smaller, 'normal' one,  or the bantams have started laying. I'll go for the latter option. We have one titchy egg - so one of the little Rhode Island Red bantams is laying. Well done that bird. Hurrah! How long before the other 4 decide to follow suite?

I'm not going to make my fortune selling these little eggs am I? What I will do is make dainty, stylish and bijoux Scotch eggs. They will feed fairies and not farmers and be the envy of the nibbling classes.

Psst! I have a trio (2 pullets and a cockerel) of these handsome bantams looking for a new home. Could deliver...but within reason folks.

Still a totally egg free zone here. I have gone over to porridge as am now so spoiled by my own eggs that I find my breakfast poached egg needs to be one of my own.
Perhaps I should be out there with a torch shining it in my hens's eyes.

Envying you those freshly laid eggs and the hens that laid them. This is just the sort of post that really makes me regret being holed up in this city apartment.

Relish the life you have got there! xo

Or you could eat some very funny egg and soldier breakfasts! I do envy you being able to keep hens. I live in city limits and we aren't allowed. It must be lovely to gather eggs for your breakfast.

Crate them up and send them over here please, we're short on hens right now.
Love those teeny eggs. I like to save them for guests, and then watch the look on the faces as gaze politely at the mini boiled eggs with their toast.

I get a dozen eggs delivered every Sunday from my friend's young country-boy nephew, and they're wonderful, but still, to know the hens that laid them would be even better!

Love those tiny eggs! We used to have a bantam called Mary when we were little but don't mention it to Wipso!! Not much of a meal for a family of 6!

Bite size Scotch eggs ? Why not a mini version of A Wee Bit Of Cooking's ( nice cooking/Scottish scenery blog ) baked eggs on mushroom caps . Though you'd need a few .

Oh I love it "... feed fairies, not farmers!" I've cracked and saved a few of those tiny eggs (I put the shells back together..) The size difference is awesome! Is there a noticeable flavor difference?
