My hunter came back from Manchester's mean streets with duck, pancakes, spring onions and hoi san sauce. The beaks are a bit disturbing but the rest tastes delicious.
Love the blog title and may just steal the idea one day. One of my favourite foods is crispy duck rolls and we used to go to a Chinese Restaurant in Barrow years ago to get it. We make it often too. Well, my hubby does. I do hope the very cute dog got some duck for cooperating with your blog posting.
It is an EBT. It is Wilson who did get the odd morsel - even I can't resist his begging although I know that feeding dogs at table is A Very Bad Thing.
The streets of Manchester may be mean, but yesterday I read in a link from another blog that the parks and gardens are to be planted with fruit and nut trees, and your hunter will be able to return bearing the makings of plum sauce ...
How strange this photo made me feel...I rear ducks for meat and pluck etc all kinds of birds for the table. I've cooked woodcock with the head and beak (but wouldn't do it again), but I couldn't cook a duck with head intact, which is stupid, I know. It's the same un-reason why I've never been able to make brawn out of my pigs' heads.

I love the photograph. those hopeful little eyes, peeking. Did the dog get any of the duck? It looks delicious (I don't mind about the beak)!
I agree... the beak is disturbing, but it does look delicious! :D
Is that an English bull terrier I see there, eyes filled with longing? Gorgeous dog!
The beak is gruesome, nearly as bad as the Claw - must be gruesome blogging season. Hope you enjoyed the duck?
